THECAPITOL.PN Has Launched!

The animation for this really is incredible. They have some sizing issues that need to be worked out, and the twitter option is a little finnicky but it's up and running! If the twitter option doesn't work, just keep trying.

As you can see I scored District Four! I'll be interested to see how PanemOctober and TheCapitol.PN cohabitate.

Let The Viral Games Begin!

I recieved a text today informing me that an email would be appearing in my mailbox from the mayor of my district. Things are certainly moving when it comes to #panemoctober:

A toolbar has appeared! It also seems The Gamemakers have stopped making threats to us on Tumblr and leaving codes on their website. They must be far too busy planning the games and oppressing the citizens of Panem, I guess.

That's not all in the news of Hunger Games viral campaigns, it looks like an official Hunger Games viral campaign has begun. If you haven't already check out: http://www.thecapitol.pn/

When it first launched, I could not tell what it was. Just weird static and mechanical noises. Now we can see that slowly but surely, the Capitol seal is coming into view.

At DWTC, they have posted a list of what the Capitol is up to: Facebook and Twitter pages for all the districts.

So what does this mean for us? Will they too have a way to sign up for tesserae? Whether they are or not, let's remember that they are the enemy and WE MUST REMAIN UNITED AMONG THE DISTRICTS!

New Developments: Panem October now has their own Twitters and Facebook!

Q&A with Gary Ross via Skype | MTV

Gary Ross talks about the status of the music for the movie, Jennifer Lawrence's training, and what scenes are most important to recreate faithfully, all the while resisting the urge to spoil his own movie,

Gary Ross: "We could only give you a little bit because we're still down here making the movie."

The teaser comes to a close as Katniss indeed shows how good she is: arrow meeting flaming target. But all this is just a taste of what's to come, as director Gary Ross told MTV News earlier this week. "We're still shooting, so unfortunately it's just a teaser. We could only give you a little bit because we're still down here making the movie," he said. "But there's a lot of things to come that I think are going to be hugely epic and very emotional and incredibly powerful."

Completely understandable, I say. I thought they showed way more than they were going to. Really looking forward to those "hugely epic" scenes!

THE FIRST OFFICIAL HUNGER GAMES TRAILER!

Get More: 2011 VMA, Music

What do you guys think?

I think it's fantastic, and it gave me goosebumps! I hope in the full trailer they release, we see more characters and locations!

Also, I think the last four notes at the very end of the trailer could be rue's quittin time whistle...

Big news! First 'Hunger Games' Footage to Debut at MTV Video Music Awards

Over the last quarter century, MTV's Video Music Awards have provided the world with some of its most famous pop culture moments, from Britney's "comeback" performance to Kanye West crashing the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech.
This year, you can add "The Hunger Games" to that list of milestones. NextMovie can exclusively confirm that this year's VMAs will feature the world premiere of the first ever footage from the most anticipated film event of 2012, introduced by star Jennifer Lawrence herself.

A Look Inside “The Potter Games”

What happens when you decide to combine two popular works of fantasy together? The answer to that question is actually fairly simple. Take the Harry Potter series (written by J.K. Rowling) and add it to Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games trilogy and you’ll get The Potter Games! Founded by Adam Spunberg, Shylah Addante, and Sam Cushion, the games opened to the general public on July 7, 2011.

Hosted by Picktainment (a website primarily focused on encouraging “users to engage in competitions based on their picks for various awards shows”) at www.thepottergames.com, the project takes the characters from Rowling’s Harry Potter series and puts them into the world of Collins’ Hunger Games challenges. Currently, 206, 238 people have signed up to participate in the games and a Rebellion page was launched last week on August 8, 2011.

Once on the homepage, users can choose between the following the tributes: Ginny Weasley, Fred Weasley, Hannah Abbott, Colin Creevey, Hermione Granger, Lavender Brown, Viktor Krum, Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, Cho Chang, Parvati Patil, Katie Bell, Fleur Delacour, George Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Cormac McLaggen, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Cedric Diggory, Vincent Crabbe, Padma Patil, and Gregory. While on the Rebellion site, they have to pick between Team Neville or Luna and continue to follow directions until their next task. Team Luna is currently unavailable to the public, but will open sometime soon.

Our very own Courtney gets a mention!
