The Mockingjay Lives - Mockingjay: Burn Fan Film Teaser

The Kickstarter short fan film Mockingjay: Burn that we posted about a couple of months ago responded to Lionsgate's trailer today with a trailer of their own.

As they are looking to be done next month, we're hoping it can help tide us over until the official movie comes out. It's impressive what some fans can get together to accomplish, so we love helping to promote projects like these.

Mockingjay Fan Film!

Hello Tributes! Some really cool people are working on a Mockingjay short that looks amazing so far!

Our Mockingjay short film will show Katniss' life as the symbol of District 13's rebellion juxtaposed with glimpses of the extravagant lifestyles in the Capitol. We aim to create a short film stylistically reminiscent of District 9 that provides a gritty, more realistic depiction of war, while at the same time staying true to the characters, relationships and events in Mockingjay. We LOVE the official movies, but we want to realize our own vision of Suzanne Collins' universe because we're die-hard fans of the books! This is a fan film and is not affiliated with Lionsgate or Suzanne Collins.

We have a professional, experienced cast and crew on board who are all willing to work completely for free. No one is making any money off this. Funds raised will go towards renting camera [they are going to rent the Red Epic camera - the same ones used to shoot The Hobbit!!!] and lighting equipment, buying costumes/props and providing food for the cast and crew (oh, the irony).

Star Squad 451: It Is Coming!

For some time, Courtney and I have been privy to the development of a new Hunger Games fan project called Star Squad 451 by Wet Ware Productions and finally we get to start sharing it with all of you!

Star Squad is a Hunger Games fan series, made by fans, for fans, with fans. It is NOT a recreation of existing Hunger Games scenes, but an entirely original story about the trial of Katniss Everdeen and the rebirth of Panem after the rebellion.

Along with the trial, the series will also follow the new Star Squad, consisting of characters you'll know and characters you won't, on a post-rebellion propo mission.

There's a cast and crew all ready to go, but those involved want this production to be as outstanding and professional-looking as possible so they will be raising funds to bring this series to you. And here's where you all come in!

Whichever three fansites raise the most money will get to host a part of the fan film and we would LOVE to have it!

Courtney and I have been helping out with this project. Having been invited to the table read, we've read a draft of the script and some of the rewrite and were SO impressed with it all. Seriously, they went way beyond our expectations. We've met and talked with everyone involved, save for some of the actors, and there's no denying their passion for The Hunger Games and this project.

Fan Project: Mockingjay Propo

Thanks so much to Jonathan for sending us this awesome poster for his amazing fan film, The Mockingjay Propo. Mockingjay is my favorite book of the trilogy, so I am extremely excited to see this project. The Mockingjay Propo will be released March 12th, (also the same day as the worldwide premiere of The Hunger Games) so definitely keep an eye out for this fan film!
