The Hunger Games Advenutures debuts District 3!

Hey guys! Hope you guys had a great holiday and new year, we're glad to be posting some news finally. The Hunger Games Adventures has revealed the official location of District 3, interestingly enough just north of District 12. I think I have always thought of District 3 in the vicinity of 2, but I guess anywhere is suitable to put a bunch of factories in North America.

To answer the burning question of whether this is Suzanne approved, we're going to give you an ambiguous yeeeeeessss??? We know Suzanne was consulted for the creation of THGA, so it is possible Suzanne approved the "official" map.

SYNOPSIS:
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.

Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE on November 22, 2013.

The Hunger Games Adventures on iPad!

The Hunger Games Adventures is coming to iPad!

If you’re a fan of The Hunger Games book, movie, or both, we have some very exciting news for you: The official social game based on the story is coming to the iPad very soon — and it’s really good!
The Hunger Games Adventures game has been a huge hit on Facebook since the movie hit theaters in March. The iPad version is built from that game, but adds greater depth to the story, better graphics, and more intuitive controls. And the fact that you can play it from your iPad anytime without having to be logged into Facebook is a pretty big advantage, too.
The one thing the game doesn’t have (although they’re working on it for the future) is the ability to transfer your character and stuff over from the Facebook version of the game. I would imagine this could be a bit frustrating for people who’ve been playing that version for some time, but the experience of the iPad game is different enough that many such people might find it fun to start over, anyway.
The Hunger Game Adventures for the iPad will be available in the iTunes App Store very soon — the exact date isn’t yet certain. Fans of the story won’t be disappointed, I promise you. And probably a lot of not-yet-fans would have fun playing it, perhaps as a precursor to reading the book and/or seeing the movie.

We play this game a lot, and not too sure if we'd be willing to completely start over but like the article says, we hope they eventually allow the Facebook crossover!

Official Map of Panem Press Release

Finally! The official map of Panem has been released as we posted earlier (there's actually more districts revealed in that post), but here's a press release of this awesome news. Here's the catch....you have to play The Hunger Games Adventures on Facebook to see for yourselves where the rest of the districts go!

FUNTACTIX AND LIONSGATE REVEAL NEW MAP OF PANEM INSIDE THE HUNGER GAMES ADVENTURES

Funtactix, a worldwide developer and publisher of social games based on the world’s premier box office films, in partnership with Lionsgate, yesterday revealed an exciting new addition to The Hunger Games Adventures, one of the hottest social games on the Facebook platform. This landmark release offers an exclusive look at a new map of Panem. The map is one of the most anticipated updates to the game and arrives as part of a series of new content reveals leading up to the DVD release of the film on August 18.

For the first time, Hunger Games fans can use the new map of Panem as they explore the world of the film and novel, complete quests for their favorite heroes and unlock all-new stories inside the world they love. Thus far, the epic adventures of the game have led fans to the Capitol, District 12, District 11 and, most recently, District 2. In the coming months, new districts will be revealed exclusively through the new map, along with an exciting storyline that will take players on a journey from obscure citizen of District 12 to a hero capable of unlocking Panem’s deepest secrets.

Since launch, Funtactix and Lionsgate have continued to work together to provide the game’s audience with a steady flow of fresh, dynamic content, using Facebook to continue the story of The Hunger Games universe in between film releases. With over a million players and growing, fans continue to devour assets and game play almost as soon as the weekly chapter updates go live.

For more information on the game, please visit The Hunger Games Adventures Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/TheHungerGamesAdventures

Wes Bentley Gives A Shoutout to the Seneca Crane's Beard Facebook Page!

This might be the coolest news of the day! GOOD ON YA, Seneca Crane's Beard Facebook Page!!! WE'RE SO PROUD!!

If you haven't liked this incredibly famous Facebook page, you would be wise to do so.

The Hunger Games Adventures: So Long, Productivity! PLUS -- CHANCE TO WIN CODES!

What would happen if Sim Social on Facebook and The Hunger Games had a virtual baby? Well, behold, The Hunger Games Adventures. Being huge gamers, we were so honored and lucky to test this baby out. Needless to say it's been our priority this past week. Hunger Games Adventures is a Facebook game (currently in Beta) in which you explore District 12 and complete quests. The game will also take you to different districts around Panem and we'll get our first look of a real map of Panem. Unfortunately, the version we played did not have this aspect up and running, but we did get to run around all parts, inside and outside of District 12's fence.

Tiff: In the last couple of years, I had to cut myself off from Facebook games because I just get too addicted to them. But when I found out that there was going to be a Hunger Games Facebook game, I knew I'd have to end my embargo.

The Hunger Games Adventures is a great way to make a game out of this wonderful series without violating the morals and ideas that the story is trying to get across to audiences. In The Hunger Games Adventures, you complete quests by helping various characters within District 12, all the while building your Forest Escape.

The format of the game is very much in line with a lot of Facebook games like Farmville. You buy items using "goods" as your currency. Sometimes you need extra items to "finish" them before you can utilize the item. And after they've been used, you must wait a certain amount of time before you can use it again.

It's tricky making a game out of The Hunger Games so keeping it in District 12 is smart. Also most of the quests are based on helping people. Even when trying to get rid of frightening creatures, you don't kill; you "banish" them.

Truthfully, I'm addicted to this game. I can't wait to see more of what this game has to offer.

Courtney: I was dangerously addicted in the first five minutes. As you meet characters such as Gale, he really conveys to the player the bad conditions in District 12, and how the districts have no choice but to obey. It's nice that they put this in as the tone of the game, so as not to convey there an upbeat mood or happiness to the situation. Still, you are put in the mindset of that world. Chores need to be done, snares need to be set, and people need to be saved.

That being said, the gameplay is EASY. Anyone can play this game, no particular skill is needed. It's pretty neat to be able to decorate your "Forest Escape", not with superfluous items, but things like snares, archery targets, strawberry bushes, or even primroses. Furthermore, the more goods you acquire (think Farmville logistics), the more you can expand your forest escape, revealing new squares of land that might hold a mysterious crate to open.

Keep in mind, all this is in the setting of District 12. We haven't even discovered what the map of Panem's function will be, or what other specific locations we might be able to explore. The quests in District 12 are pretty entertaining enough. I think what fans will enjoy most, is to travel to other parts of District 12 that you don't find out about until Catching Fire. It was nice to see these locations that aren't necessarily in the new movie.

We give this game a MUST PLAY, if even for a little bit, for those who aren't the game playing type. We finished the demo for the storyline, but if it says anything at all, Tiff and I are STILL playing!

Hey-- WE'RE NOT DONE YET! Scroll down for a giveaway!!

Check it out! We have FIVE codes that we are giving away to gain early access to The Hunger Games Adventures! Fill out the form below, and may the odds be EVER in your favor...

First Look At Hunger Games Adventures Facebook Game!

We are beside ourselves with our excitement, not just for the film, but for the soon to be released Facebook Game Hunger Games adventures. Huffington Post gets the very first look at the game:

The company behind the game is Funtactix, which also made online games for the movies "Mission: Impossible" and "Rango."
According to Funtactix CEO Sam Glassenberg, "The Hunger Games Adventures" will be free to play, and takes place in an isometric version of Panem. Players, who play as characters bearing their own names rather than as characters from the books, will be able to spend real-world money in order to purchase upgrades and tools that will make their progress through the game smoother, but its makers insist that players will also be able fully to enjoy the gameplay without having to pay out any money.
At the game's heart will be "World of Warcraft"-like quests, initially given by "The Hunger Games" characters Katniss and Peeta, and which involve completing simple in-game tasks. Players will also have their own "safe area" in the forest, where their energy will recharge, and which can be both decorated and fitted with in-game equipment.
The game will be played solo, however in order to complete certain tasks, players might need to share an item with or receive an item from a friend who is also playing the game.
As a 'casual' Facebook game, the world is less edgy than that of either the books or the movie. Players cannot be killed - an unsuccessful skirmish merely results in their energy being depleted, forcing a withdrawal to 'recharge', while defeated enemies either walk away or vanish. The game design is very child-friendly, similar to that of the hugely popular Farmville (albeit more graphically sophisticated), and players use the mouse pointer to search, attack, chop down trees and collect gems.
If the player suddenly quits Facebook, or their internet connection drops, then the in-game state will freeze until the player returns.
The game will run within Facebook in an internet browser window, and its makers say that it will be perfectly playable on netbooks as well as high-end computers, with little noticeable difference in graphics or gameplay. However, as it uses the multimedia platform Flash, it will not be playable on cellphones or iPads.
The game launches worldwide on March 23rd, simultaneously with the North American opening of the movie. At launch, only District 12 of North America will be explorable; however, other districts, as well as the Capitol itself, will apparently be 'unlocked' in the future. The game's entire design will also adapt and change as the second and third movies are released, according to Funtactix.
Although players will complete quests that aren't in the books or movies, there don't appear to be any fundamental narrative reveals at this stage, other than the first-ever official map of Panem. However, if the excitement surrounding the forthcoming movies is anything to go by, The Hunger Games Adventures is going to be a hugely popular add-on to the series, particularly with teenagers, in the wait for the next two movie installments.

We can't wait!! Rest assured I will be playing this game constantly. It also looks to be extremely similar to the way The Sims Social Facebook game works as well. You can sign up for the BETA, too!
