Hunger Games Costume Auction Raffle!!

The Hunger Games Costume Auction APPROACHETH!!

On November 16, 2013 the costumes from the first film will be auctioned off! Actually you can put your bids in now, but the main event will be held on the 16th. We've had the opportunity to touch, examine, and admire the costumes in person and they are amazing.

If you are thinking of putting a bid in and live in the L.A. area you can even schedule an appointment to see the costumes for yourselves! FYI the cheapest starting bid start at $100, so it's possible to snag an extra piece that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Check out their website for more info. You can order their sleek catalog or even view it online!

Hunger Games Costume Tour details

Here are some new details about the tour stop at C2E2:

THE HUNGER GAMES COSTUMES EXHIBIT TOUR COMES TO CHICAGO!
Blacksparrow Auctions' Hunger Games Costumes Exhibit Tour arrives at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) this weekend from April 26-28 at McCormick Place. The Exhibit will be at Booth #1209 and will feature original screen-worn costumes of Katniss, Peeta, Effie, Haymitch, Cinna, President Snow, Rue and many more. A special "Reaping" scene will be on full display to greet fans and attendees.
As a C2E2 exclusive, Blacksparrow will unveil the "Fire Chariot" costume worn by Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence.

The Hunger Games Costumes Exhibit Tour was previously seen in Seattle at Emerald City Comicon. After C2E2, the Tour will end at New York Comic Con in October, where a live auction of the costumes will take place. This is a must-see for Hunger Games fans, as this opportunity is one of only a few times fans can see the costumes up close on public display!
To celebrate the Tour, Blacksparrow is conducting two free Hunger Games raffles, one online and the other in-person at C2E2. Participants are welcome to enter both contests, but you must be present to enter the in-person contest. To enter the online raffle, go here: https://apps.facebook.com/sweepstakeshq/contests/316920.
The prize is a collection of two Hunger Games movie companion books and six posters. The books are The Hunger Games: Official Illustrated Movie Companion and The World of the Hunger Games, both by Kate Egan. Also included are character posters for Peeta, Haymitch, Rue, Cinna and Cato, and a Catching Fire poster.

The Hunger Games Costumes at FIDM!

Live in L.A.? Did you miss The Hollywood Show? You have starting tomorrow, February 12th until April 27th (10am–5pm/Tuesday through Saturday) to see these Hunger Games costumes on display at FIDM in Los Angeles. The 21st Annual Motion Picture Costume exhibit will also have on display costumes from films such as A Royal Affair, Anna Karenina, Argo, Django Unchained, Hitchcock, Les Misérables, Lincoln, Mirror Mirror, Skyfall, Snow White and the Huntsman and more.

We (Tiffany and I) were lucky enough to go to the opening night of the exhibit last Saturday, and even got to meet the costume designer for The Hunger Games, Judianna Makovsky!
Here we are nerding out on the inside.
The exhibit has crazy cool costume pieces from many films, and we recommend YOU ATTEND! What's the best part of this exhibit aside from The Hunger Games? IT IS FREE. Though parking usually is not, we found a parking lot across the street from FIDM for $5 all day, FYI.

If you are still waiting for the costume tour to start touring, Check out tour dates and locations HERE.

5 Things You Should Know About The Hunger Games Costume Tour

We've got quite a year ahead of us, Hunger Games fans! Catching Fire buzz has just now begun, (not to mention award season) and we are getting crazy excited for it all. But there is one event that is happening all throughout this next year and we DO NOT want you to miss it. The Hunger Games costumes are going on a nationwide tour, ending in an auction at New York Comic Con. Last Saturday we saw a sneak preview of the costumes at The Hollywood Show, which really got us excited for this tour.

So what's new this time around? We got an even bigger sneak peek at what's to come in this costume tour, so here are our FIVE things you should know about Blacksparrow Auction's Hunger Games Costume Tour:

Katniss' final interview dress!
1. Blacksparrow Auctions has ALL the costumes from the first film. Every tour stop will have about 10-20 costumes, but know that they are choosing from literally EVERYTHING.

2. The AMAZING detail. Folks, there are things about these costumes that you can't even hope to notice on film. They are detailed in ways that are indeed true to the books, and some even in ways you did not expect.

3. I'm sure you are thinking that you probably aren't going to be able to own a piece of the first Hunger Games film because dude, you're not a millionaire. WRONG! This auction will have something for everyone. They are not auctioning off just a few outfits, but the whole shebang. Odds are (see what I did there?) you can probably get your hands on something for a decent price.

4. More stops are likely to be announced in the future! Don't give up hope if you don't live near any of the cities already signed up for the costume tour.

5. This is a one time opportunity! These costumes are going for auction and they'll likely never be seen again. To be in the presence of these finely crafted costumes is unreal. If you have the chance to see this, we highly recommend you take it.

NOTE: To get up-to-date news on the costume tour, follow Blacksparrow Auctions on Facebook!

Tour dates as of now:

Seattle, WA - Emerald City Comic Con - March 1-3

Chicago, IL - C2E2 - April 26-28

New York - New York Comic Con - October 10-13

Hunger Games Costumes at The Hollywood Show

Do you live in L.A? Come on down to The Hollywood Show convention THIS WEEKEND at the Westin Hotel by LAX.

If you are thinking of heading down there this weekend, you might wanna show up tomorrow (Sunday) as they are going to add Peeta's baker outfit to the collection. This morning they had Effie's reaping outfit, Katniss' reaping dress, her hunting outfit, and Haymitch's suit (that he wears in The Capitol).
Black Sparrow Auctions has many other costumes that they will auction off when the tour concludes which means that every stop will probably have a different set of costumes.

Tickets for The Hollywood Show are $20 and available at the door. Parking is $7 FYI.
We will have more information about the costumes later this week!
