Can-Tribute at DoSomething.org

Hey tributes! We've got a great opportunity for you to do some good for people in need.

DoSomething.org and BBYO have a campaign running called Can-Tribute where you can sign up to run a food drive in celebration of the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

To help DoSomething.org members will run a food drive and donate to their local food shelter.

• In 2012, 49 million people lived in households without enough food to eat.
• More and more people are relying on food banks and pantries. Those programs need donations from individuals to keep supplying meals.
• Food drives are crucial, so run one that's Hunger Games-themed! Channel your inner Katniss or Peeta in this challenge that's fun AND rewarding.

By participating, you have a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship and tickets to a local pre-screening of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 for you and 20 friends! How awesome is that!

Lionsgate Auctioning 5 Signed Comic-Con Exclusive Posters For Charity

If you want to get your hands on a Comic-Con exclusive The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 poster, here's an opportunity for you!

"LIONSGATE is auctioning off five posters from THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 1 signed by Natalie Dormer, Evan Ross, Elden Henson, Mahershala Ali, and Wes Chatham from the 2014 San Diego Comic Con benefiting The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The winning bidders will receive the studio certified posters with a signed letter verifying their authenticity as well as a MOCKINGJAY- PART 1 pin. Auctions begin July 29th, 2014 and will end August 5th, 2014. Interested fans and collectors should be aware there are only limited amounts available."

Books For Tributes

Our friend Shylah Addante, team member of Down with the Capitol and writer of the Finnick and Annie and The Hanging Tree shorts from Mainstay Productions, has asked us for help, and we are turning to you, dear fandom!

Let's get BOOKS FOR TRIBUTES.

Using donorschoose.org and with the Hunger Games fandom's help, she is looking to fund teachers across the country to get The Hunger Games in classrooms and libraries.

We have always lauded The Hunger Games for presenting issues like inequality and poverty in a very real way and making them accessible and teachable to the teens and young adults that read the books. But there is a very real problem. Many schools and classrooms simply cannot afford to get the Hunger Games books.

Take a minute to read Shylah's story below. We hope that it'll inspire you to give what you can to classrooms in need and spread the word.
