Jeffrey Wright's #piratetransmission: Ebola Survival Fund PSA

Hello friends! It has certainly been a while. Though we have come out of the Mockingjay Part 1 premiere as victors (it was close, but Courtney made it out mostly unscathed), it pretty much wiped us out for a while. That, and the fact that we took a break for the Holidays, is the reason why we haven't been around much. But fear not! It is almost 2015 and we are back!

Jeffrey Wright has been teasing us about a pirate transmission earlier this week and yesterday, the transmission has been revealed! Check out this PSA on Ebola with Jeffrey and a few of the people from the Mockingjay cast:

The Ebola Survival Fund will support a coalition of community-based organizations working in Liberia and Sierra Leone in order to complement the efforts of the larger-scale programs being implemented by international organizations. All programming funded by the Ebola Survival Fund will support existing national plans in both Liberia and Sierra Leone in coordination with the United Nations Ebola response effort in order to fill key gaps in communities in rural areas. The Ebola Survival Fund is grateful to UNICEF for its support.

Partners In Health, BRAC, Wellbody Alliance, Last Mile Health, Shine On Sierra Leone, Taia Peace Foundation & Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa are joining forces to crush Ebola now.

With your support, we can bring a permanent end to this epidemic. We can increase survival rates and assist Liberian and Sierra Leonean communities and community-focused groups in their efforts to respond to the crisis, survive…then thrive.

Excuse us while we watch this a thousand more times.

Jeffrey Wright Talks About Hunger Games Fan Passion

When we stumbled upon this interview with Jeffrey Wright, we had to post this ASAP. In this interview, Jeffrey talks about how deeply the fans connect with the series based on his trip to Comic-Con. What is SUPER NIFTY for us is that he mentions the meet & greet with the fan sites because he asked us all the same question: "Why are you so passionate about this stuff?"

We've always been really thrilled about Jeffrey Wright playing Beetee, but seeing the respect he had for the fans at Comic Con was so refreshing. He truly understands, and as fans that means the world to us.

Comic-Con Catching Fire Interview ROUNDUP!

Soooo, Comic-Con was amazing. Aside from our experience and possible giveaways (which we will announce soon), TONS of interviews have come out over the past week from the press line. It's almost overwhelming the number of interviews that are out there so we did our best to put them all together.

Click the link below to see all of the videos, but first, please enjoy this video from EXTRA in which Jennifer Lawrence freaks out over Jeff Bridges. We can't blame her because we had the same reaction when witnessing The Seventh Son panel.

"Who was your favorite character? Does it rhyme with 'The Shmooze'?"

Exactly our thoughts, Jen.

Tons of interviews under the cut!

JEFFREY WRIGHT CAST AS BEETEE IN LIONSGATE’S THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

Santa Monica, CA, September 7, 2012- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Jeffrey Wright has been cast in the role of Beetee in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. Hailing from District 3, Beetee earns the nickname “Volts” because of his electronics expertise.

Critically acclaimed and celebrated by audiences for his performances in theater and on film and television, Wright garnered a Tony® Award in 1994 for his work in Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning epic “Angels in America” which he reprised in HBO's 2003 mini-series adaptation, earning both a Golden Globe® and an Emmy®.  He has played memorable roles in films as diverse as BASQUIAT, SOURCE CODE, CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE, W, SYRIANA, and CADILLAC RECORDS.  Wright can next be seen with Mark Walhberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones in Allen Hughes' political thriller BROKEN CITY.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75^th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has sold more than 50 million books in print and digital in the U.S. alone.

Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE on November 22, 2013.
