Lionsgate announces premieres and press tour for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

As expected, November will be surely be a busy time for us Hunger Games fans.

Today, Lionsgate announced plans for the press tour and premieres for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

On November 1st, the press tour will start in Beijing and hit Seoul, London, New York and Los Angeles. Cast members including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Sam Claflin will be in attendance.

Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland will join them in Leicester Square in London for the world premiere on November 10th. Fans in the US who purchase tickets on Fandango October 29th during the first 24 hours of advance sales will be entered for a chance to win a trip to the London Premiere.

All of the cast will reconvene for the Los Angeles premiere, which will take place on November 17th at the Nokia Live Theater.

#HGFiresideChat Host Savanna New & Fansite Shenanigans in the LA Times

Fansite people eat and chat at In-n-Out

So I guess it must be said that last weekend was the best weekend of our lives. We met fansite runners who we have been dying to meet for months, when Lionsgate was nice enough to invite us all to the Hunger Games World Premiere in L.A. In the photo above, mostly everyone had just flown in and we all sat and talked at the In-n-out near the airport. Pictured above, Adam Spunberg and Savanna New from the HG Fireside Chat, and Shylah, Arianna, Flo, and Theresa from Down With The Capitol.

Needless to say, we all had a blast. Visiting The Hob campground on Sunday was one of my personal favorites (which there will be a big post about that day soon), as well as Livin' it up at the "Capitol Shore" for a fun party, and lastly the big premiere. You can imagine my surprise when I found this article in the Business section of the L.A. Times quoting none other than #HGFiresideChat host Savanna New!

And the studio reached out to the operators of fan websites, sending them "Hunger Games" goodies and inviting them to the premiere. Dozens came to Los Angeles for the event and even met for a party in Los Feliz on Sunday.
'They did so much stuff for the fans, it was crazy' said Savanna New, a Florida teacher who runs a weekly podcast devoted exclusively to 'The Hunger Games.'
'We were all really glad they didn't show the games, because it kept up the mystery and made us want to see it more.'

Not only was our friend Savanna quoted in the L.A. Times, but it even mentioned the party we had at the house all the fansites were staying at! Too crazy! The shindig was a festivity full of food, Hunger Games discussion, and even a livestream hosted by Adam and Savanna.

We also hung out with the likes of people from Mockingjay.net, HG Girl on Fire, and the ever so awesome Sam Cushion. It was so heartbreaking to say goodbye to all these fine people! The weekend was without a doubt, LEGEN-wait-for-it-I-hope-you're-not-lactose-intolerant-because-the-rest-of-that-word-is-DARY.

Fans who can’t make the trip to Los Angeles will still have an opportunity to watch all the excitement LIVE from the red carpet of the world premiere. The bands will reserve your space in the Red Carpet fan viewing area and also a theatre seat in the World Premiere of the film with the cast. The wristbands must be worn by all fans until the premiere is over, and any wristband that has been tampered with or removed will be invalidated.

LIONSGATE will host the World Premiere of THE HUNGER GAMES on Monday, March 12, 2012 at NOKIA THEATRE  LA LIVE |777 Chick Hearn Court |LOS ANGELES .
On Sunday, March 11th, at 6.00 AM PST the NOKIA PLAZA will be transformed into a Fan Campsite, called The Hob, for the first 400 fans who wish to stay overnight to secure access to the Premiere’s Red Carpet and Screening. Throughout the 24 hours we will be entertaining diehard fans with various activities. 
If you wish to camp overnight in hopes of viewing arrivals and securing tickets to the premiere itself, overnight camping will be allowed in designated areas of the Nokia Plaza beginning on Sunday, March 11th at 6.00 AM PST.  Camping before that time won’t be allowed, and the location and start of the official fan camp line will be established by The Hunger Games event security SEM. Fans who wish to camp in The Hob will be required to register online beforehand at (XX) and provide proof of registration and I.D. at check in. 
If you are one of the 400 fans to be admitted to The Hob you will receive a special wristband and designated area within the campsite.
Wristbands will be distributed to the first 400 fans on a first-come, first-served basis, and you must be present to receive your individual wrist band.  The bands will reserve your space in the Red Carpet fan viewing area and also a theatre seat in the World Premiere of the film with the cast.  The wristbands must be worn by all fans until the premiere is over, and any wristband that has been tampered with or removed will be invalidated. 
On Monday March 12th at 6.00 AM PST the 400 Fans who received wristbands and camped overnight will be given a return call time and meeting location to gain access to the Red Carpet Arrivals and pick up their Theatre Tickets from Fan Will Call.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERA’S, CELL PHONES or BLACKBERRY’S WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE THEATER.  ALL OF THESE ITEMS MUST BE CHECKED BEFORE ENTERING THE THEATER.

Below is a partial list of rules and conduct guidelines for fans who wish to camp:
• Only Standard Sized Pop Tents will be allowed (4′x4′ [16 sq. ft.] or less. No oversized tents, staked tents, etc., due to limited space)

• No open flames will be allowed on site, so fans shouldn’t plan on cooking while camping
• No horseplay or harassment of other fans will be allowed
• No amplified music will be allowed (all music devices must be used with a headset or earphones)
• Smoking will be allowed in designated areas only, outside of the NOKIA Plaza boundaries
• Fans are responsible for their own property. LA Live, SEM nor Lionsgate is responsible for any lost or stolen items
• Everyone please pick up after themselves. A fine will be enforced for anyone who litters on Nokia or LA City property
• Please only use the restrooms designated for fans
• Guests must follow the rules and directions of L.A. LIVE Management/Lionsgate Security at all times

We all know Lionsgate loves their milestones. At 100 days till The Hunger Games, we got a new poster. At 74 days till The Hunger Games, we learned that advance tickets will go on sale February 22. Now today marks the 50 day countdown till The Hunger Games, and Lionsgate hasn’t let us down!
In addition to announcing that The Hunger Games red carpet premiere will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on March 12, 2012, Lionsgate has teamed up with 50 websites, and each site is giving away a pair of tickets to the LA premiere!
